📌 Mission Objective

Structural assessment of an FPSO mooring balcony component during onshore lifting prior to integration.

The analysis ensures that the structure can safely withstand lifting conditions (self-weight, rigging loads) without overstress or excessive deformation before being integrated to the hull.

  • Definition of lifting configuration and associated load cases
  • FEA modeling of the spread mooring structure using Femap
  • Application of rigging forces and self-weight based on lifting points
  • Simulation of lifting deformations and stress distributions
  • Verification of structural strength and maximum deformations
  • Adjustment of supports and lifting points to minimize deformation
