Structural Assessment – Compressor Base Plate

📌 Mission Objective

Perform the structural assessment of one of the compressor base plate. The objective was to evaluate the base plate can safely withstand the different operating conditions such as compressor loads, wind, blast, inertia, transport and lifting.

🧠 Approach & Actions

  • Review of clients requirements and external loads inputs
  • Create the FEA model and define loads (compressor torque, unbalanced load, wind load, motor load, gear load etc...)
  • Assess the level of stress and deformation
  • Perform modal analysis and identify critical modes
  • Make sure the design comply with the rules
